You can demonstrate your love of the beautiful Hocking Hills and affect how it's presented and preserved for generations to come by joining The Friends of Hocking Hills State Park. (www.friendsofhockinghills.org)The Friends also present many great events during the year, including the ones you see above...please come join us to participate or help out!
Whether you're interested in raising awareness, educational opportunities, or funds, The Friends provides year-round avenues to be a part of very special efforts. In 2007, the group provided funds for the new archery range across from Old Man's Cave, and donated a new John Deere "Gator" to the Park Service during the famous Winter Hike on 1/19/2008. Current long-range efforts include expansion of the education mission at the Park's Visitors Center and a new Astronomical Observatory. Annual events also include Shoot The Hills (photography competition) and the Hocking Hills Poker Run (5/17/08).
Friends of Hocking Hills State Park
You can help by purchasing a joint membership for as little as $20 per person...or $15 for junior memberships. It's not a lot, but it can and will make a great deal of difference. Members are also welcome and ecouraged to participate at monthly meetings, usually held at the State Park Lodge Dining Area. And if you see a vehicle with a yellow bumper sticker that reads "I Love the Hocking Hills" ask the driver to tell you more about The Friends!
